UCR’s Virtual Private Network UCR VPN) provides faculty, staff and students with a secure method of accessing the UCR network. UCR VPN provides enhanced security for two distinctly different methods of network access: Campus Wireless and Off-Campus Access via an Internet Service Provider. Go to https://vpn.ucr.edu/engineering and enter your ENGR Username and password in the yellow box on the left hand side (do Not put ENGR\ in front of your username) The AnyConnect installer will automatically start if you have not installed the client You may be asked to run the application, click "Run" To gain access to secure library resources, follow these instructions on how to install and use GlobalProtect VPN on your desktop, laptop, or smartphone. Note that the campus Cisco AnyConnect VPN is decommissioned as of July 1, 2020. If you were using this VPN, you will need to install the GlobalProtect VPN. For Mac users Mar 02, 2020 · This new VPN provides improved security features, including better integration with UCR’s internet firewall and multi-factor authentication (MFA). Campus VPN users are highly encouraged to begin using the GlobalProtect VPN immediately, as the old AnyConnect VPN will be decommissioned on March 26, 2020.
